2b or not 2b ? blog

In the article " 2b or not 2b," David Crystal discusses how he believes texting will not destroy our language. As a matter of fact, he believes that it is a new technology system for people to communicate with one another. Crystal introduces an argument when he mentioned John Humphry's text. He says that Humphry does not support texting and believes that it only destroys our language in some way. Crystal also discussed how texting began in the early 1990's during this time texting was limited. You could only send 20 characters in length. However, texting has began growing tremendously since then.

Response:

This article was very interesting to read because it actually talks about things that might need some change. I believe texting does ruin our language in some way. When i send a message to my friends or family, I tend to abbreviate almost every word I use and therefore end up forgetting how a word is spelled. I also believe that David Crystal has a point where he talks about the length of a message. Today, Texting has taken over many things such as sitting down and reading a book.
